Burglars Posed as Damp Inspectors in Gravesend Heist

Gravesend residents are on alert after two men tricked their way into an elderly man’s home and stole cash and a credit card.

Fake Inspectors Target Pensioner

Kent Police were called around 11.30am on 27 September after the duo knocked on a Milton Road door claiming to check for damp. They told the man in his 80s that a neighbour had reported issues, so they needed to inspect his property too.

While one chatted with the pensioner, the other scoured the house. Once gone, the victim discovered a credit card and cash were missing.

Suspects Described

  • Both white, large builds
  • One around 6ft tall, short hair, dark jacket
  • Second about 5ft 7ins, dark boiler suit, beanie hat
