Tragic stabbing of Bournemouth mum Amie Gray shocks nation
The family of Amie Gray, the 34-year-old fitness coach and postal worker brutally stabbed to death at Bournemouth’s Durley Chine Beach, have spoken out in heartbreak after an inquest confirmed she died from multiple stab wounds. The horrific attack happened late on Friday night, May 24.
Suspect Held in Croydon
Police have arrested a 20-year-old man from Croydon, south London, on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. He remains in custody as Dorset Police lead the ongoing investigation into the violent attack that also left a 38-year-old woman seriously injured in hospital.
Family and Loved Ones Pay Heartfelt Tributes
Amie’s mother, Sharon Macklin, said: “As a family, we are devastated to have lost one of the most amazing, funny, kind, and energetic souls. When Amie entered a room, it filled with laughter and her presence could not be ignored. She was beautiful inside and out, and there are no words that can express how empty our lives will be without her. We will miss her so much, and our hearts are forever broken.”
Amie’s wife, Sian Gray, a beauty therapist, shared her grief: “Words cannot describe the pain that we feel. Amie was the most loving wife and mother. Her giggly laugh and big smile will be hard to be without. A larger-than-life character, I will miss you immensely, my love. To the moon and back, forever and always. Thank you for all of the love and support shown and for respecting our privacy.”
Inquest Findings Confirm Cause of Death
The brief inquest at Bournemouth Coroners Court revealed Amie Gray died from multiple stab wounds, confirmed by post-mortem examination. Coroner Rachael Griffin confirmed police were called at 11.42pm on May 24, with Amie pronounced dead shortly after at 12.24am on May 25. The inquest has been adjourned until December 11 as the investigation continues.
