Teen Sexually Assaulted on Ilford Bus – Cops Hunt Suspect
The Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command have released a photo of a man wanted over the sexual assault of a 15-year-old boy on a London bus.
Victim Targeted on Route 179
On Friday 2 July at around 7.30pm, the teenager boarded the Route 179 bus near Ilford station, wearing his school uniform. He sat at the back of the top deck.
The suspect followed and sat next to him. He tried to engage the boy in sexual conversation, which the victim ignored. The man then sexually touched the teen multiple times over a 20-minute ordeal.
The victim got off the bus and immediately told his mother, who alerted police.
Suspect Described – Police Plea
The man got off a few stops later at Southend Road – 1 Green bus stop. The victim managed to film him on his phone. Detectives say the suspect is an Eastern European male, about 35, with receding short brown hair and rough stubble.
Det Chief Insp Michael Dougall said: “Did you see this man around Ilford or on Route 179 that evening? If you witnessed anything, no matter how small, please come forward. We must identify him.”
