Man Threatens Pensioner with Screwdriver in Blue Bell Hill Shocker
Police are hunting a screwdriver-wielding thug who scared a pensioner near Blue Bell Hill.
Incident Sparks Alarm on Saturday Afternoon
The frightening episode took place between 1.15pm and 1.30pm on Saturday, 7 November 2020, on Robin Hood Lane.
The victim, a man in his 60s, was out walking with his wife and dog when an unknown man approached them on a footbridge.
Screwdriver Wielded Over Social Distancing Dispute
After the victim politely asked the stranger to keep his distance, the suspect allegedly pulled a screwdriver from his pocket and threatened him.
The suspect is described as:
- Between 30 and 40 years old
- About 5ft 10in tall
- Medium build with short black hair and a black and grey beard
- Wearing a navy blue coat with a fur-trimmed hood
Police Appeal for Dashcam Footage and Witnesses
“We are making enquiries to find the man behind this distressing attack,” said Police Sergeant Sarah Alvey of Tonbridge and Malling Community Safety Unit. “He walked off towards Walderslade. We urge anyone who saw him, or has dashcam footage from 1pm to 2pm in the area, to come forward.”
