CCTV Snaps Reads Silver Audi in Hit-and-Run Horror
Police want to track down a silver Audi caught on CCTV after a shocking hit-and-run in Reading.
At 8.55pm on Friday 21 August, the car turned from Oxford Road into Belmont Road. A 43-year-old man, alarmed by the driver’s behaviour, stopped to ask if he was okay. Instead, the driver hurled abuse at him.
Driver Charges Pedestrian, Flees Scene
In a shocking move, the Audi then rammed the man as he crossed the road, pushing him into the opposite lane. The driver sped off down Belmont Road, leaving the victim hurt but conscious.
The man suffered minor cuts, scrapes, and bruising but refused hospital treatment.
Police Hunt Young, Bearded Suspect
The driver is described as white, mid-20s, with short shaved hair and a neat beard. He was wearing a grey t-shirt.
PC Samuel Rice of Reading police warned: “Thankfully the victim suffered only minor injuries but the outcome could have been far more serious. I urge anyone who recognises the Audi or who witnessed this incident to come forward.”
