Two Women Snatch Watch from 86-Year-Old Outside Pub
Shock as an elderly man was robbed outside a local pub in broad daylight. At around 12.20pm on Wednesday 16 September, an 86-year-old victim was leaving the White Horse Inn on Wheatley Road when two unknown women confronted him. One blocked his exit, and together they grabbed his wristwatch before fleeing the scene.
Suspects Flee in Black Car Towards Stanton St John
- First woman: White, mid-20s, slim, about 5ft 6ins, dark hair. Wearing pale blue face mask, white top, and tight black trousers or tights.
- Second woman: White, mid-20s, larger build, mousey brown hair, possibly wearing yellow trousers.
The pair ran off heading towards Stanton St John and are believed to have escaped in a black vehicle.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“This was a frightening experience for the victim who fortunately was uninjured,” said Designated Investigator Rebekah Kent from Abingdon Police Station.
