Teenager Left with Broken Ankle in Shocking Ripon Attack

Chaos hit King Edward Road, Ripon on Sunday, 9 March 2025, when a blue VW Polo mounted the kerb and slammed into a teenage boy. The victim suffered a serious leg injury, including a broken ankle, in what police are treating as an attempted murder.

After the crash at around 8:05 pm, the boy was reportedly attacked again while helpless on the ground, possibly with a weapon. Emergency crews rushed him to hospital where he remains under treatment.

Police Nab Two Suspects After Rapid Response

North Yorkshire Police quickly launched a manhunt, arresting two suspects: a 21-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy. Both are currently in custody and facing questioning over the brutal assault.

The blue VW Polo and a second vehicle connected to the suspects were seized for forensic exams. Officers hope this will shed light on the motive behind the terrifying attack.

Detectives are begging the public to help crack the case. Anyone who saw the incident or was in the area around 8 pm that night is urged to come forward. Footage from dashcams and doorbell cameras could be crucial.
