Body Found on A3 Slip Road Sparks Murder Probe
A murder investigation is underway after a woman’s body was found in Guildford yesterday, 23 August.
Shocking Discovery Near Guildford Junction
Police were called to the northbound A3 slip road near the A320 Woking Road junction at around 3pm. A passerby spotted the body hidden in undergrowth and raised the alarm.
Two Men Arrested as Police Hunt Identity
Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team are leading the investigation. Officers believe the victim, thought to be in her forties, was killed elsewhere and dumped at the scene. Two men were arrested last night and remain in custody as inquiries continue.
Senior Officer Speaks Out
Detective Chief Inspector Emma Vickers said: “We are investigating this as a murder which we believe has been committed elsewhere with the victim’s body left in this location.
“We are still trying to determine how long the body had been there for and are working with forensic experts as part of our enquiries. We will issue further updates as soon as we are in a position to do so.”
She added: “While our investigation is in the early stages, we want to reassure local residents that a dedicated team is working round the clock to find out exactly what happened.”
Road Closure in Place – Avoid the Area
The A3 slip road remains closed with a police cordon expected for at least another day. Motorists are urged to avoid the route and the public is asked to respect all cordons.
