Two held after brutal double stabbing murder in Islington
Teenager and man die in shocking knife attack
Two suspects, aged 27 and 17, were arrested on Monday evening on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. They remain in custody at a north London police station as the investigation heats up.
The horror unfolded late Thursday night on Elthorne Road, Islington, when 15-year-old Leonardo Reid was found with stab wounds. Emergency services rushed to the scene but Leonardo was tragically pronounced dead shortly after midnight.
A second victim, a 23-year-old man who also suffered stab injuries, later died at a West London hospital.
Another man arrested but later released
On Saturday, a 46-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. However, he has since been released without further action as police continue their inquiries.
Police urge witnesses to come forward
Chief Superintendent Andy Carter offered heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families, calling the loss “unimaginable”. He stressed the vital role the community plays in cracking the case.
