Two Men Stabbed Outside Clapham Nightclub in Suspected Hate Attack
Police are investigating after two men were stabbed late Sunday night on Clapham High Street.
Knife Attack Shocks Nightlife Crowd
The brutal assault happened around 10.15pm on 13 August. The two victims, standing outside a nightclub, were suddenly attacked by a man wielding a knife who then fled the scene.
Both men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were rushed to hospital with injuries. Thankfully, they have now been discharged.
Suspect Still on the Run as Police Probe Possible Homophobic Motive
Detectives are actively hunting the attacker. The case is being treated as a homophobic assault pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Gary Castle, Central South Command Unit: “We know this attack will deeply alarm the LGBT+ community. We want to reassure everyone that this is a priority investigation and we’re working hard to find the person responsible.”
“We’ve recently reinstated LGBT+ community liaison officers across all 12 London Borough Command Units. They’ll support investigations where homophobia is suspected and be a direct point of contact for the community.”
