Neighbours Spot Break-In, Call Police
Neighbours in Marlborough Road sprung into action just after 5.45pm yesterday. They heard smashing glass and saw two suspicious figures prowling a house. Their quick response startled the burglars, who fled the scene.
Chase Ends with Arrests in Lambeth
The crooks jumped into a car and sped eastbound on the M4. Thanks to a detailed vehicle description, police quickly circulated info across forces. At around 9pm, Met officers stopped the vehicle in Lambeth and arrested two men.
Stolen Goods Seized in Sting
Inside the car, officers found jewellery, watches, and cash — believed to be stolen in the burglary. Insp David Tippetts praised the vigilant neighbours for tipping off police. He said, “Their quick action helped prevent more crime and led to the seizure of a significant haul of high-value jewellery.”
Both suspects remain in custody at Gablecross while enquiries continue.
