Bus Crash in Oakley Leaves Three Seriously Injured
Hampshire police are hunting for witnesses after a bus crash on Andover Road, Oakley, yesterday afternoon.
19 On Board, Three Seriously Hurt
The single-vehicle smash happened just after midday on Thursday 26 July. Nineteen people, including the driver, were on the double-decker bus. A two-year-old boy, a 67-year-old man, and a 38-year-old man suffered serious injuries, though thankfully none are life-threatening.
Another ten passengers sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital. No one else was hurt. The road was closed for almost 10 hours and reopened at 10pm.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Inspector Andy Tester from Hampshire’s Joint Roads Policing Unit urged anyone who saw the crash, the bus before the incident, or who has dashcam footage to come forward.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the double-decker bus prior to the collision. We’d also like to hear from any motorists who may have dash cam footage from the area around that time.”
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Hampshire Constabulary immediately.
