Stabbing Shocker in Ilford: Man Hurt Near Busy Bus Stop
Police rushed to Longbridge Road at Sandhurst Drive junction in Ilford just after 9pm on Wednesday, 7 December following reports of a stabbing. Officers found a man stabbed multiple times and immediately gave first aid at the scene.
Air Ambulance and Paramedics Called In
Paramedics and doctors from the air ambulance were quickly deployed. Medical gear was visible by a nearby bus as the victim was treated on the spot. He was then rushed to the Royal London Hospital’s major trauma unit.
Major Disruption as Crime Scene Blocks Road
Longbridge Road remains sealed off in both directions. Several London bus routes – 5, 145, EL2, EL3, and N15 – are running revised routes due to the blockage. Buses are stuck inside the police cordon, causing delays and confusion.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
A Met Police spokesman said: “Officers attended with London Ambulance Service after a man in his 20s was found injured with a stab wound to his chest. His injuries are not life-threatening.”
Police believe the victim was attacked by at least two men near Lovelace Gardens just before being found on Longbridge Road. An investigation is ongoing.
