Empty ‘Corrosive’ Containers Found in Newcastle in Hunt for Clapham Chemical Attack Suspect
Police on the trail of Abdul Ezedi, wanted over a shocking chemical attack in Clapham, have uncovered empty containers marked “corrosive” at a Newcastle property. The discovery is a major breakthrough in the manhunt after the January 31 assault left a 31-year-old woman and her two young daughters seriously hurt.
Massive Police Operation Across London and Newcastle
The Met Police are leading the search for Ezedi, who is accused of launching the dangerous attack. They’re digging through dozens of calls and working with British Transport Police, Northumbria Police, the National Crime Agency, and Transport for London. Raids have hit two East London spots and three addresses in Newcastle as part of the intense effort to find the suspect.
Forensic Tests Underway on Suspicious Containers
The seized containers are now being examined in labs — they may have once held the corrosive substance used to hurt the victims. The police have released graphic photos of the containers and urgently called on the public for any tips.
Victims in Stable but Critical Condition as Police Warn Public
The victim, who knew Ezedi, remains critical but stable, suffering likely life-changing injuries. Commander Jon Savell confirmed Ezedi was last spotted at King’s Cross Underground on the day of the attack and warned not to approach him. Anyone spotting him should call 999 immediately.
A Met Police spokesperson said officers and partner agencies won’t rest until Ezedi is caught. The public’s eyes remain key to bringing him in and keeping communities safe as the investigation continues.
