Violent Robber Threatens Shop Staff with Broken Bottle
Lewis Frost, 26, of Horton Road, Horton, faced Swindon Crown Court after admitting to assaulting emergency workers, robbery, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, and breaching bail. On December 21, Frost threatened shop workers at Roundway Service Station in Devizes with a broken bottle and stole cash.
Police Staff Targets Razor-Wielding Man on A4361
On April 14, 2020, Frost created chaos on Beckhampton Road near Avebury. A mini bus carrying Wiltshire Police control room staff, moving between Devizes HQ and Swindon’s Gablecross police station, was forced to stop after Frost deliberately stepped into the road and refused to move.
Two Special Constabulary members stepped out to help. Frost then tried to dart into the path of an oncoming vehicle near a blind bend, forcing the officers to give chase. During the detention, Frost kicked one officer in the face.
Razor Blade Attack Leaves Officer Stitched Up
When uniformed officers arrived, Frost pulled a razor blade from his pocket and cut himself. Attempts to disarm him turned violent as Frost slashed one officer’s hand deeply, requiring multiple stitches in hospital.
“This was a nasty incident involving police officers and staff who attempted to resolve things peacefully,” said Detective Constable Rachel 1. “Frost had other ideas and inflicted serious injury during the struggle.”
“These staff were just trying to keep vital 999 and 101 services running safely during lockdown. This violent attack caused unnecessary distress and will not be tolerated.”
“I’m pleased with the custodial sentence imposed.”
