Police want your help after a wild car chase ended with shots fired in Southampton on Wednesday, June 13.

Gunfire Hits Windscreen During High-Speed Pursuit

Just before 8pm, officers received reports that a blue Ford Focus fired at the windscreen of a silver Vauxhall Astra on Walnut Avenue. The Ford then tore after the Astra at breakneck speed, racing onto Wide Lane and hurtling down the A27 towards Church Hill.

Reckless Overtakes Put Other Drivers at Risk

Witnesses say the cars recklessly overtook six vehicles along Church Hill during the chase. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.

Police Urge Witnesses and Dash Cam Owners to Come Forward

Investigators have spoken with several witnesses but are especially keen to hear from drivers overtaken on the A27. If you were driving between Wide Lane and Church Hill that evening and have dash cam footage, contact police immediately.
