Gun-Shaped Threat Sparks Panic in Horsham
Startling doorbell cam footage in Horsham’s Thompson Road shows a youth flashing what appears to be a firearm. Police swooped in after a 10:52pm call on Saturday, June 17, reporting an armed individual lurking in Broadbridge Heath.
CCTV Catches Trio Moments Before Incident
Investigators tracked down CCTV revealing three youths—possibly two lads and a girl—strolling the road about half an hour earlier. One of them quickly hid the weapon after spotting passers-by. Witnesses say the gang crossed Sargent Way before disappearing.
Police Hunt White-Hooded Suspect
Officers are desperate to ID the youth rocking a white hoodie who was seen carrying the weapon. Ch Insp Sarah Leadbetter, Horsham District policing commander, warned:
“Carrying a weapon like this isn’t just unusual—it’s illegal. Even if it’s bravado, anyone caught with a weapon faces serious consequences.”
She added that such reports risk triggering a heavy response from tactical firearms units, who treat every sighting as a serious threat.
