Police Dog Sniffs Out Two Fuel and Car Thieves in Dawn Arrests

Diesel Heist Foiled at A2 Layby

Around 1.20 a.m., PD Eli caught the scent of a man who fled from a car parked near lorries in a layby off the A2 near Harbledown. Officers found a large bowser filled with stolen diesel in the vehicle. The 32-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of theft but later released on bail as investigations continue.

Maserati Thief Busted After High-Speed Chase

PD Eli struck again at 5.25 a.m., discovering a 34-year-old man hiding in thick bushes after ditching a stolen Maserati in the Leeds area of Maidstone. The luxury car had been driven recklessly at high speed until officers stopped it with a stinger device.

The driver faces charges including theft, reckless driving, failure to stop, and drunk driving. A 34-year-old passenger in the car was also arrested for theft. Both men were handed over to Thames Valley Police since the Maserati was stolen from their area.
