Serious Crash on Seabrook Road: Ice Cream Van Hits Cyclist
A nasty smash involving an ice cream van and a cyclist shook Seabrook Road, Hythe, at around 5:55 PM on Sunday, 28 July 2024. The collision has sparked a full police investigation, with officers urgently hunting for witnesses.
Cyclist Seriously Injured, Taken to London Hospital
The ice cream van was on its way to Folkestone when it collided with the cyclist heading towards Hythe. The rider’s identity remains unknown, but we do know they suffered serious injuries. They were rushed to a London hospital. Thankfully, medics say the injuries are not life-threatening.
Driver Arrested – Police Call for Witnesses
A 48-year-old man from Dover, the van’s driver, has been arrested and is in custody as cops dig deeper into the crash. The Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is leading the probe and wants anyone in the area at the time to step forward.
They’re especially keen to get hold of any dashcam footage that might shed light on what happened.
