Masked Mugger Threatens Jogger with Barbecue Fork in Broad Daylight

Detectives are linking two scary snatch-and-run incidents that happened within half an hour on Thursday, 5 May 2022, in Great Chart and Singleton.

Phone Snatch Attempt Foiled in Great Chart

A man in his 20s was strolling along a footpath near the playing fields on Chart Road when a thug demanded his phone. The victim refused, and the suspect fled empty-handed.

Jogger Robbed at Knifepoint in Singleton

Minutes later, two women jogging along Tithe Barn Lane in Singleton were targeted. One was confronted by a man who threatened her with a weapon shaped like a barbecue fork and demanded her mobile phone. Terrified, she handed over the phone, and the suspect vanished toward the underpass near Singleton Road.

Suspect Description and Police Appeal

  • Suspect is a slim white male, 17-22 years old.
  • Height around 5ft 9in.
  • Wore a black tracksuit with a red stripe and a black balaclava.
  • Carried a weapon resembling a barbecue fork.
