Woman Arrested After Flammable Liquid Thrown Near Big Ben

A 41-year-old woman is in custody after a tense incident at the Palace of Westminster late on Tuesday night, 5 December. Just before midnight, she told officers she had thrown a lit container of flammable liquid onto parliamentary grounds close to Elizabeth Tower, home to Big Ben.

Police Seize Suspicious Item; No Damage or Injuries

Officers quickly recovered the container and sent it for forensic tests. The woman was arrested on suspicion of arson and taken to a west London police station, where she remains held. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and the iconic building escaped damage.

Police Launch Investigation, Call for Witnesses
