Woman Attacked and Groped on Route 54 London Bus
Chilling Assault on Early Morning Bus
Detectives are hunting a man after a 25-year-old woman was grabbed and attacked on a Route 54 London bus. The terrifying incident happened at around 7:15am on Tuesday, 12 December 2017, on the bus heading towards Lewisham through Beckenham.
Unwanted Advance Turns Violent
The victim was sitting alone on the upper deck of the nearly empty bus when a man boarded a stop later and sat right next to her. He struck up unwanted conversation before suddenly putting his arms around her and groping her breast. The woman bravely shoved him off, fled down the stairs, and escaped the bus.
Police Appeal and Description
The suspect is described as a slim black male, aged 20-25, wearing a blue baseball cap, dark jacket, and a scarf covering his mouth. The Met’s Roads and Transport Command is leading the investigation. Police Constable Jay Thorn urged the public:
“This has left the victim feeling violated and now anxious to use public transport. I would urge anyone who recognises the man wanted for questioning to contact us as soon as possible.”
