Woman Crushed to Death by Lorry in Hackney Shocks East London
A tragic fatality rocked Hackney early this morning after a woman was crushed by a lorry on Mare Street.
Fatal Crash Closes Major Road
The horrific collision happened around 10:50 AM, prompting authorities to shut Mare Street between Morning Lane and A1207 Graham Road.
Motorists faced major delays as the crash caused multiple bus routes to be diverted – including the 30, 38, 55, 106, 242, 253, 254, 276, and 277 services.
Emergency Crews Rush to Scene
Metro Police, London Ambulance Service, and Fire Brigade quickly responded. Despite frantic efforts, the woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are probing the circumstances surrounding the crash. A Metropolitan Police source said:
“Officers were called at approximately 10:50 AM after reports of a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian. Tragically, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The lorry driver stopped and is assisting with enquiries.”
