Tragedy in Sutton: 21-year-old woman dies after hit-and-run collision

Rhiannon Hall named as victim of fatal crash

Detectives have identified the woman killed in a collision in Sutton as 21-year-old Rhiannon Hall from Surrey. The crash happened at around 10.15pm on Friday, 16 October, on London Road near Garth Road in Cheam.

Driver flees scene but later caught

Police and the London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene after reports a car hit a pedestrian. Rhiannon was rushed to a south London hospital but sadly died from her injuries.

The driver fled but was arrested shortly after on suspicion of drink driving. He was taken to a police station for questioning before being released under investigation.

Witnesses urged to come forward

Detective Constable Jenny Burr from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:

“Our thoughts are with Rhiannon’s family and friends during this tragic time. We are determined to uncover exactly what happened. We’re asking anyone with dash cam footage or information, no matter how small, to come forward. Your tip could help bring answers to a grieving family.”
