Worthing Police Chase Teen Over ‘Knife’ – Turns Out to Be Building Material
On Tuesday night (27th September), Worthing Police scrambled to The Causeway, Durrington, after reports of a 15-year-old carrying a knife.
Foot Pursuit Ends with Cannabis Find
Officers chased the youngster on foot and caught him nearby. While no blade was found, he did have cannabis and was handed a Community Resolution for drug possession.
No Knife, Just Construction Debris
Police investigations and CCTV reviews revealed the “knife” was actually a piece of building material. Officers cleared this, along with other debris, to make the area safer for everyone.
Police Step Up Patrols Amid Ongoing Youth Concerns
“We are aware of ongoing issues involving youths in the area, and we continue to 1 with partners and the community to combat this,” said Adur and Worthing Police.
“We are also increasing patrols in the area for community reassurance. If you witness any criminality, you can report it online or via 101. In an emergency, dial 999.”
