Emergency services called to concern for welfare

Emergency are in attendance at Battery Gardens in Lake in the Isle of Wight after a concerned resident called them over concerns for the welfare of an individual. Officers from Hampshire Constabulary were called just after 8.30am on Tuesday morning and still remain. Police have cordoned of the area and are diverting members of the public away from the public recreation ground whilst they try and engage with the distressed person. A coastguard search and rescue team from Bembridge has also been mobilsed to the incident to assist police.
