Police Continue Appeal for Witnesses After Hit-and-Run Collision in Swindon

Police are continuing to appeal for information after a serious hit-and-run collision in Swindon left a pedestrian with potentially life-changing injuries.

The fail-to-stop collision took place on Thursday, January 30, at around 3:35 PM, at the junction of Bay Tree Court and Pinehurst Road.

Stolen Car Involved in the Incident

  • The vehicle involved was a green Vauxhall Adam Glam, which had been stolen overnight from the Old Town area of Swindon.
  • The car struck a man in his 40s, who suffered severe injuries.
  • The vehicle was later found abandoned near the scene, with two male suspects fleeing the area in the direction of Hornbeam Court.

Suspect Descriptions

Police are working to identify the two individuals who fled the scene. They are described as:

  • White males
  • One wearing blue jeans and a white top
  • The other dressed in all black
  • One of the men had a beard, while the other was seen wearing a hat

Police Urge Witnesses and CCTV Footage

Roads Policing Unit Sergeant James Barrett stressed the seriousness of the incident and urged anyone with information to come forward:

“This was a very serious collision which has left the pedestrian with significant injuries. We believe there are more people who may have either witnessed the collision or seen the suspects fleeing the scene.

“We also urge residents in the area to check their Ring doorbells or CCTV footage for any images of the suspects or the vehicle.”
