Bounty Bars Are Being Removed From Celebrations Tubs As Part Of A Trial “off The Back Of Public Demand”.
Mars Wrigley is testing the removal of the coconut-flavored snacks after
39% of respondents said they wanted Bounty’s to be permanently removed from
Celebrations.
In November and December, 40 Tesco Christmas Market locations will have “No
Bounty” Celebrations tubs available.
To compensate for the missing Mars, Snickers, Milky Way, Galaxy, and
Maltesers bars, the limited edition tubs will include additional Mars,
Snickers, Milky Way, Galaxy, and Maltesers sweets.
It follows last year’s Bounty Return Scheme, in which Bounty-haters could
return their undesired chocolates and exchange them for Maltesers after the
holidays.
According to Mars Wrigley, in a survey of 2,000 Britons aged 18 to 65, over
one-fifth (18%) would be angry if only Bounty bars were left in the tub.
Meanwhile, more than half (58%) of people expected it to spark a family
feud.
While 39% wanted the bars removed permanently, 22% thought Bounty was the
least appealing of the tub’s options.
However, Mars Wrigley stated that it was not yet ready to make a final
selection after 18% of respondents chose Bounty as their favourite.
According to polling, it is popular with a more mature palate, with 38% of
those over the age of 55 choosing it as their preferred bar.
“Last year, we provided customers the opportunity to return their undesired
Bounty chocolates,” said Emily Owen, senior brand manager at Celebrations.
We’re now testing removing them out of the tub entirely according to
popular demand.
“You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone, and there’s still a chance
for those devoted – and secret – Bounty lovers out there to return after
the trial.”
Customers at selected Tesco Christmas Market locations will be able to swap
tubs purchased that day in store for a new “No Bounty” version until
December 18.
The trial will take place across 40 Tesco Christmas Market locations,
commencing on November 8 at Baguley Extra in Manchester and ending on
December 18 at Gallions Reach Extra in London.
