Family Desperately Seeks Answers Over Gary Burns’ Mysterious Disappearance in Turkey

The Burns family is in turmoil after Gary Burns vanished without a trace while working in Turkey. Confused and desperate, they’re left with more questions than answers about what really happened.

UK Family Struggle Against Foreign Bureaucracy

Gary had been living and working in Turkey for years, regularly updating his UK family with photos and news of his life. Every winter, he searched for new work in Turkey—just as he did this year. But when contact suddenly stopped, the alarm bells rang.

Gary’s brother Terry initially thought he’d gone off in search of work elsewhere like before. But when staff at the bar where Gary worked told his sister Danielle he hadn’t shown up for shifts, panic set in.

Shocking Claims and Social Media Scams

The family’s worst fears grew after friends trying to find Gary failed, and news came through social media claiming Gary was dead in the sea. Adding insult to injury, a message demanded £400 from the family for information about his disappearance.

Determined not to give up, the Burns family launched their own investigation. Two witnesses told them Gary was killed after being plied with alcohol and bundled into a car, then buried in the hills near Icmeler.

Family’s Heartbreaking Tribute and Plea for Help

“Happy birthday bruv, love and miss you so much,” wrote Terry in a moving Facebook tribute.

His sister Danielle added, “6 years today we received the message about our Gary. 6 years on we are still waiting on the truth … and still 6 years on someone out there knows what happened. Each year gets harder and harder as it feels like we will never get the truth, but we will NEVER GIVE UP.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the charity Missing People on 116 000 or email [email protected]. The Burns family’s fight for answers continues—will justice for Gary ever be found?
