Barnham Brawl: Man Assaulted, Two Teens Arrested

Police have launched an urgent investigation after a violent assault at Barnham’s The Passage to India restaurant. The incident, which happened around 10pm on Sunday, May 19, left a 64-year-old man with serious facial injuries and the venue damaged.

Two Teen Girls in Custody Over Criminal Damage

Authorities arrested two schoolgirls from Yapton, aged 14 and 15, on suspicion of causing criminal damage during the disturbance. Both have been released on bail while the inquiry continues.

Police Hunt More Witnesses and Suspects

Officers are appealing to anyone involved or with information about the brawl to come forward. Witnesses have reportedly shared a social media video of the event. Chief Inspector Will Keating-Jones has urged the public to avoid speculation or resharing the footage and to report any relevant evidence directly to Sussex Police.

“This is an unacceptable and unprovoked attack,” said Chief Inspector Keating-Jones. “Those who go to work should not have to tolerate this behaviour. We are taking this report extremely seriously and will hold those responsible to account.”
