Brighton Main Line Reopened After Earlier Flooding

Network rail had to close the Brighton main line this morning due to flooding on the line and a points failure between Clayton and Patcham tunnels (Hassocks and uk/where/preston/">Preston Park).

Network rail said “The flooding comes from the railway being in a deep cutting that is essentially just above the water table”

As of Midday, the line had reopened after Engineers confirmed that the line is safe and no issues were found.
