Drink driver charged after ploughing into wall

A foolish mini driver has been arrested and charged after ploughing his car he was driving into a wall near Apse Heath in the early hours of this morning (Sunday). Officers arrested Callum Downer of Sandown,after he failed a roadside breath test at the scene of the single vehicle collision. Officers were called just after 1am on Sunday morning to the Apse heath roundabout. Downer had ploughed his car into the wall. By luck he escaped and others had escaped injury. Downer was take to Newport Police station for an evidential breath test to be carried out. He has been been charged and released on bail to appear before the Islands magistrate court next week to answer drink driving charges.
