Intruder Arrested After Scaling Wall And Entering Royal Mews Near Buckingham Palace

In a daring and concerning incident, a man who was found scaling a wall and entering the Royal Mews, located adjacent to Buckingham Palace in London, has been apprehended by police officers. The incident unfolded in the early hours of Saturday, September 16, prompting swift action by law enforcement.

At approximately 01:25 on the aforementioned date, police officers were summoned to the Royal Mews after receiving reports of unauthorised access to the premises. A search operation was immediately launched, leading to the discovery and subsequent detainment of a 25-year-old man. He was apprehended by officers outside the stables within the Royal Mews complex.

Crucially, authorities have emphasised that at no point during the incident did the intruder gain access to Buckingham Palace itself or the Palace Gardens. This distinction offers assurance regarding the security of the main royal residence.

The individual responsible for the intrusion has now been placed under arrest under the provisions of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act. Specifically, he faces charges related to trespassing on a protected site.

Following his apprehension, the suspect was transported into custody at a London police station, where he currently remains. Investigations are ongoing to determine the motives behind this breach of security and to assess whether any additional charges may be applicable.
