A motorcyclist has tragically died following a collision on the A4361 in Winterbourne Monkton this morning, 30 August 2024.
The incident occurred around 8:00 AM when a Kawasaki motorcycle travelling northbound was involved in a head-on collision with a Ford Transit Custom van travelling in the opposite direction. Despite the efforts of emergency services, the rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 50s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Wiltshire Police have informed the rider’s next of kin and expressed their condolences, stating, “Our thoughts are with them at this sad time.
The driver of the van was uninjured in the collision.
The A4361 remains closed as police carry out investigations into the circumstances of the crash. The road is expected to reopen once all necessary inquiries have been completed.
Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
