Massive Blaze Erupts at Bexley Warehouse

Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters have been scrambled to tackle a huge fire at a warehouse on Viking Way, Bexley. The blaze is raging through multiple business units inside the building.

Firefighters Battle Flames and Defuse Danger

Brave crews have already removed gas cylinders from the site and cooled them down to prevent explosions. The fire brigade’s control room has taken 20 calls so far, but thankfully, no injuries have been reported.

Local Residents Told to Stay Safe

People living and working nearby are advised to keep windows and doors firmly shut due to thick smoke in the area. The fire was first reported shortly after 6.15pm.

Firefighters from Across the Borough Join the Fight

  • Crews from Erith, Bexley, Plumstead, East Greenwich, Sidcup, and other stations are on scene
  • Cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage
