A 12-year-old girl is in a critical condition after a terrifying smash involving an electric scooter and a car on East Ferry Road, Isle of Dogs. The crash happened just after 9pm on Sunday, February 18, sending emergency crews racing to the scene.
Girl Severely Injured, E-Scooter Rider Hurt
The collision involved a car and an electric scooter carrying the girl as a passenger. She suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital fighting for her life. The male rider, a man in his 20s, was also taken to hospital but his injuries are not life-threatening.
Driver Walks Away Unscathed
Thankfully, the car driver escaped without a scratch. Police say no arrests have been made yet, and investigations are underway to piece together what caused the crash.
Police and Ambulance Action
Police were called by LAS to East Ferry Road, Isle of Dogs at about 9.06pm on Sunday, February 19, following reports of a collision involving a car and an electric scooter,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said. “The female passenger of the e-scooter, a 12-year-old girl, remains in hospital with what is believed to be life-threatening injuries. Her next of kin have been informed.”
London Ambulance Service sent crews and an incident response officer to treat both victims at the scene before rushing them to hospital.
