Motorcycle Crash Sparks Massive Delays Near Nettlestead
A motorcycle smash on the A228 dual carriageway near Nettlestead has caused major tailbacks this afternoon. Kent Police shut the road while paramedics treated a man in his 50s at the scene.
Chaos on the Roads
The crash happened just after 3.40pm on Monday 12 September near the East Peckham Road roundabout. Traffic snarled for miles as drivers queued trying to enter Boyle Way, where ambulances were parked.
Motorcyclist Injured, Car Driver Missing
Emergency crews attended after reports of a collision involving a motorbike and a car. The motorbike rider suffered injuries described as not life-threatening and was rushed to a local hospital.
Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where the motorist had left prior to their arrival,” a Kent Police spokesman said.
Police are now hunting the driver of the car, who fled before help arrived. The carriageway has since reopened, but enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
