Tragic Death in East London Flat Blaze

A disabled man has died after a devastating fire ripped through a flat on Cheneys Road, Leytonstone, East London.

Firefighters’ Harrowing Rescue Attempt

Fire crews found the man wearing breathing apparatus but sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene. Part of the flat suffered significant fire damage.

Emergency Response & Ongoing Investigation

The London Fire Brigade was called shortly after midnight on Monday. Four fire crews, including officers from Leytonstone and three other stations, rushed to the scene.

The cause of the blaze remains unknown. The Met Police and London Fire Brigade have launched a joint investigation.

Both authorities have been approached for comment.
