A 6ft Grey Nurse Shark was spotted along the coastline around 5pm yesterday. Tragically, the shark was soon found dead on the beach.
About the Grey Nurse Shark
- Approximately 6ft long and 3ft wide.
- Also known as the Ragged Tooth Shark.
- Classified as vulnerable to extinction.
- Typically found in tropical and temperate waters of the Atlantic, Indian, and Western Pacific Oceans.
- Common around all Australian states except Tasmania.
Fearsome Look, Harmless Nature
Despite its scary teeth, the Grey Nurse mainly feeds on small to medium fish, squid, and lobster. Experts confirm they pose no threat to humans.
