Rock-Throwing Teens Spark Police Clampdown on A249
A gang of youngsters has been hurling rocks at motorists on the A249 near Kemsley, putting lives at risk and forcing police to step up patrols.

On 21 August 2020, just past 1.40pm, a lorry driver narrowly avoided disaster when debris smashed into their windscreen while travelling along the busy route. The incident has sparked urgent investigations.
Police Warn of Life-Changing Consequences
Chief Inspector Alan Rogers, Swale’s District Commander, blasted the reckless behaviour: “Throwing items from motorway bridges is exceptionally reckless and has the potential to cause fatalities.”
“Those taking part perhaps do not realise how tragic the consequences of their actions could be but, alongside harming an innocent person, they are risking obtaining a criminal record that will hinder them in later life.”
He urged parents to warn their children about the dangers. “Our officers will also be patrolling the area and will take action against anyone carrying out such dangerous acts.”
