Tragic Blaze Claims Man’s Life in Willesden Green Flat Fire
Early Morning Fire Devastates Flat
A man was found dead after a huge fire tore through a flat in Willesden Green, North West London, in the early hours of December 6. The London Fire Brigade was called to Lancaster Road at 5.30 a.m. after the first floor of a converted house was engulfed in flames.
Firefighters Battle Blaze
About 15 firefighters from three stations – Willesden, Park Royal, and West Hampstead – raced to the scene with three fire engines. They brought the fire under control by 6.52 a.m., but not before it wrecked half of the three-room flat on the first floor.
Man Pronounced Dead at the Scene
Tragically, a man was found inside the flat and was pronounced dead at the scene. A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said:
“A man has sadly died after a flat fire on Lancaster Road in Willesden Green this morning. Half of a three-roomed flat on the first floor of a converted semi-detached house was damaged by fire.”
“The Brigade was called at 05:29 and the fire was under control by 06:52. Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Willesden, Park Royal, and West Hampstead fire stations attended the scene.”
“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
Emergency Response and Investigation Underway
The London Ambulance Service confirmed they sent an incident response officer and members of the hazardous area response team (HART) to the fire. Despite their best efforts, the victim could not be saved.
“We were called at 5.39am today (6 December) to reports of a fire on Lancaster Road, Willesden. Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a person died at the scene,” a spokesperson said.
