Fatal Crash on A2: Kent Police Launch Witness Appeal

Kent Police is urgently hunting for witnesses after a deadly crash on the A2 between Faversham and Canterbury. The smash happened at 4.21pm on Monday 23 July on the Boughton by-pass, near Brenley Corner.

Two Vehicles Collide in Tragic Incident

The collision involved a white Iveco road sweeper and a red Mercedes lorry. Both were heading towards the Brenley roundabout on the eastbound carriageway when they collided.

Road Sweeper Driver Dies Following Crash

Emergency services rushed to the scene, including fire crews and ambulances. The road sweeper driver, a man in his 60s from the Isle of Sheppey, was airlifted to a London hospital but later died.

His next of kin have been informed. Authorities lifted road closures at 1.15am the next day.

Police Call for Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for anyone who saw the crash or has dash cam footage to come forward.
