A3 Shut After Hit-and-Run Horror Crash Near Wisley
The A3 southbound was slammed shut last Friday night following a shocking hit-and-run smash near Wisley, Surrey.
Two-Car Collision Sparks Chaos
The crash, involving two vehicles, happened just before 10pm on Friday, February 3rd. Drivers were trapped along the jammed A3 southbound for hours as emergency crews scrambled to the scene.
Surrey Fire and Rescue teamed up with South East Coast Ambulance Service to tackle the chaos. Firefighters used specialist cutting gear to free a passenger with serious injuries, who was rushed straight to hospital.
Driver Flees on Foot, Police Launch Manhunt
Police revealed the crash involved a white Nissan sports car smashing into the central reservation at 9.10pm on February 2nd. After the crash, the driver ditched the car and fled on foot.
“We’re appealing for the public’s help to track down the driver who failed to stop,” said Surrey Police.
The National Police Air Service joined the hunt but the driver remains at large.
Road Closure Causes Delays
The A3 and parts of the M25 remained closed overnight while collision investigators combed the scene. The road finally reopened early Saturday morning, sending relief through stranded drivers.

Surrey Police urge anyone with information, dashcam footage, or sightings of the car or driver to come forward.
