Chaos on A32: Head-On Collision Shuts Road Near West Meon
Police and emergency crews are scrambling at the scene of a serious crash on the A32 near West Meon. Around 30 firefighters from Droxford, Petersfield, Cosham, and Basingstoke have been called in to tackle the aftermath of a horror head-on smash involving two vehicles.
BMW on Wrong Side Sparks Fiery Collision
Reports claim a silver BMW pulled out of a local fuel station moments before the crash and recklessly drove up the road on the wrong side. It smashed headlong into another vehicle, triggering a major emergency response.
Witnesses at a nearby car meet described the BMW tearing up the hill on the wrong side before the smash. The scenario prompted calls for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance to join the rescue effort.
Road Closed, Specialist Rescue Underway
The A32 is closed both ways between West Meon Village and West Meon Hut. Fire crews are using heavy-duty cutting and spreading tools. A specialist rescue tender with extra stabilising gear has arrived from Cosham.
The closure looks set to last until early Wednesday morning. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and check local diversion routes.
