Adele Shuts Down Homophobic Heckler in Fiery Las Vegas Showdown
During her star-studded residency Weekends with Adele at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, the superstar singer was hit with a shocking heckle – and she didn’t hold back.
Heckler Slams ‘Pride Sucks’ Mid-Performance
On June 1, as Adele was dazzling the crowd, an audience member shouted, “Pride sucks.” The singer immediately confronted the insult head-on.
“Did you come to my fg show and just say that Pride sucks?” Adele snapped. “Are you fg stupid? Don’t be so f****g ridiculous. If you have nothing nice to say, shut up, alright?”
Adele Stands Strong for LGBTQ+ During Pride Month
The incident came amid Pride Month celebrations – a time honouring LGBTQ+ rights and history since the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City. Known for her unwavering support of the LGBTQ+ community, Adele’s response was swift and fierce.
Back in 2016, after the tragic Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando that killed 49 and injured 53, Adele dedicated a show to the victims and voiced her deep connection with the LGBTQ+ community.
“I would like to start tonight by dedicating this entire show to everybody in Orlando and at Pulse nightclub last night… The LGBTQ community, they’re like my soul mates since I was really young, so I’m very moved by it,” she said.
Fans Rally Behind Adele’s Bold Reprimand
Social media quickly erupted in support for Adele’s no-nonsense reply. Fans praised her courage for standing up to homophobia, especially during Pride Month.
The incident is a stark reminder of the importance of allyship and the need to call out discrimination, especially in venues meant for celebration and inclusion.
