Early Morning Blaze Tears Through Derelict Droxford Hotel

Fire crews were scrambled at 4:51am to tackle a fierce fire ripping through the abandoned Upland Park Hotel on Garrison Hill, Droxford. Arriving firefighters faced a blazing inferno so intense that part of the building collapsed.

Squatter Fears Dodged as Fire Rages

Firefighters were initially worried squatters might be trapped inside the derelict shell. Luckily, Hampshire Fire and Rescue confirmed they believe no one was inside when the fire broke out. Crews from Droxford, Wickham, Bishops Waltham, Fareham, Botley, Portchester, and extra support vehicles rushed to the scene.

Six Hours Later: Flames Die Down but Danger Lingers

After battling the blaze for six hours, the fire service issued an update. A spokesman said: “Incident scaling down but still awaiting a stop message. Beware that in the area of Garrison Hill, Droxford, there will be steaming and smoking for the rest of the day.”

History Repeats: Hotel Site Struck by Fire Before

This isn’t the first time the old Upland Park Hotel has been hit by fire. Crews were called back on June 12, 2018, when part of the same deserted building caught fire.
