Attempted Child Abduction Shocks Portchester

A chilling attempted child abduction has left Portchester residents rattled. The incident took place just after 3:30pm on Monday outside Wicor Primary School in Hatherley Crescent, as children were leaving class.

Girl Targeted After School

A Year 5 girl was walking home alone when a black saloon car screeched to a halt beside her. A white, middle-aged man leaned over, opened the passenger door, and asked if she was “1” – before beckoning her to get in.

Thankfully, the brave youngster refused and quickly told her parents, who were waiting nearby at The Seagull pub.

Police Called In – Help Identify Suspect

Portchester Police were alerted and have already spoken to the girl. Her father is urging the community to share the warning and come forward with any information.

If you saw the suspicious vehicle or know the driver, report it to Hampshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 441 7019 2461.
