Storm Katie Can’t Stop New Donkey Birth at Surrey Farm
Despite Storm Katie thrashing Bocketts Farm Park in Fetcham, Surrey, life carried on as usual. Staff at the award-winning farm welcomed a brand-new baby donkey over the Easter weekend – and naturally, they named her Storm.
Rough Weather, But Baby and Mum Are Doing Fine
Farm Manager Hannah revealed the challenges they faced: “We lost some stable roofing as the storm battered the yard, but we were on hand to keep mum safe and cosy in her stable.” The hardworking team battled the elements to ensure both mum and foal were protected.
More Easter Miracles Amid the Howling Wind
Storm wasn’t the only miracle that night. Hannah added, “We welcomed three sets of lambs in the lambing shed, but had to move some of them and their sheep mums to another barn in the early hours.”
All the new arrivals are now dry, safe, and thriving, much to the delight of staff and visitors alike.
