Sky pulls the plug on A League of Their Own after 15 years of laughs and sporting chaos! The hit comedy panel show is set to bow out with a 20th and final series, filming kicks off this August in Manchester.
A League of Their Own Signs Off for Good
Since bursting onto screens in 2010, A League of Their Own has been a must-watch blend of sports trivia, outrageous challenges, and star-studded line-ups. Originally helmed by James Corden, the show found a sharp new tone when comedian Romesh Ranganathan took the reins as host.
The farewell season will bring back fan favourites, including team captains Jamie Redknapp and Jill Scott, alongside regular Micah Richards. Sky promises the final run will “celebrate everything that has made the show such a hit” with “more laugh-out-loud games, surprise guests and sporting chaos.”
End of an Era for Sky’s Comedy Sports Show
“Series 20 is the perfect opportunity to celebrate everything A League of Their Own has achieved and to give it the send-off it truly deserves,” said Phil Edgar-Jones, Sky’s Executive Director of Original Unscripted Programming.
“We’re incredibly proud of the show — it’s been a cornerstone of Sky’s entertainment line-up for fifteen years and has delivered endless laughter, heart, and unforgettable moments.”
Legendary Guests and Iconic Moments
Jamie Redknapp has been the longest-serving cast member since the very first series. Over the years, the show welcomed sporting giants like Mo Farah, Anthony Joshua, and Andy Murray, plus top comedians and surprise guests.
Even after Freddie Flintoff’s departure in 2021, the show’s fresh chemistry kept fans hooked. Beyond the studio, A League of Their Own also took the fun on the road, filming special episodes across the UK, Europe, and the US – adding to its huge cultural footprint.
The final series will air on Sky Max and NOW later this year, giving fans one last chance to enjoy the madness before the curtain falls on a beloved TV institution.
