Tragic Crash in Darlaston: Cyclist Dies Despite Rapid Emergency Response

West Midlands Ambulance Service rushed to Midland Road, Darlaston, after a collision at 1.09am. Two ambulances, paramedic officers, and a specialist MERIT trauma team – including a doctor and critical care paramedic – were dispatched. The first responders reached the scene within three minutes.

Cyclist Found in Critical Condition

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said crews found two patients on arrival. “One, the cyclist, was in critical condition. Police officers were already performing CPR and were joined by firefighters to assist.”

Heartbreaking Efforts to Save Cyclist Fail

“Ambulance staff delivered advanced life support and expert trauma care. Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, the cyclist was confirmed dead at the scene.”

Car Passenger Treated and Taken to Hospital

The other victim, a woman front-seat passenger, was out of the car when paramedics arrived. She had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital for further assessment.
